Charlotte Birch – Apprentice of the Year!

Charlotte Birch an ATT FE Business Administration Apprentice has just won Mansfield and Ashfield 2020  ‘Apprentice of the Year 2017′. Charlotte won this award for being a team player and for all the hard work that she does on a day to day basis to support ATT FE. Charlotte has supported the ethos of ATT FE from her very first day. Charlotte is committed and highly-motivated and is able to stay focused even when under pressure. Charlotte has recently taken on several additional work tasks for ATT FE which include payroll and HR admin. The attention of detail required for this work is very high. Charlotte is meticulous in all that she does and is a joy to work with.

Liz Barrett, Principal Academy Transformation Trust Further Education, commented that ‘it has been a privilege and a pleasure to watch Charlotte learn and grow since starting her Apprenticeship and that Charlotte is a perfect example as to the value of the impact that an Apprenticeship learning aim can have upon a young persons life. Under the careful guidance of her Apprenticeship Mentor, Tasha Price, Charlotte has gone from strength to strength in her skill-set development often on a weekly basis. The support that Charlotte has received from her Assessors has also been invaluable’.

Mad Hatter Event

Academy Transformation Trust Further Education staff from Sutton Community Academy teamed up with Dukeries Academy to host an exciting Mad Hatter themed event. Local schools in Ollerton and the surrounding areas were invited to attend a day of fun and engaging learning activities.

Primary school children dressed up as their favourite characters from Alice in Wonderland and participated in a variety of STEM related activities.  A Mad Hatters tea party lunch was provided and  magician kept everyone entertained.

The focus of the day was to embed Science, Engineering, Technology and Maths in a creative and interactive way.   Activities included green screen technology, a Jabberwocky literacy session, potion making and working with net templates to create 3D shapes.

The event was a great opportunity for the local schools to come together and celebrate the wonderful writings of Lewis Carroll.

Learning support assistant honoured at Trust awards

Matt Iddon Learning Support Assistant with Academy Transformation Trust Further Education (ATT FE) was recognised at a special event in the House of Commons recently.

Matt was nominated by Deputy Director Liz Barrett for his initiative and his dynamic, caring approach.

Over 60 guests including pupils, parents, staff and MPs gathered in London to celebrate the many achievements of staff and pupils from across the Academy Transformation Trust family at a presentation afternoon held this month (11 July) at the prestigious House of Commons.

In total, 21 awards were given out to winners from The Trust’s academies in celebration of their hard work throughout the past academic year.

Liz Barrett, ATT FE Deputy Director, said: “Matt is a fun, engaging, witty and hard-working young man who is keen to ensure that ATT FE moves forward in a secure, positive and successful way. Everyone who has contact with him comments upon his commitment and care.

“Matt has demonstrated great initiative with all of the work that he has done, including developing the ‘Learner Voice initiative’ leading to the establishment of a valuable Student Council.

“He works in an efficient way to meet deadlines and support quality improvements within ATT FE. Matt is a team player as well as someone who is easily able to work under their own initiative and we are incredibly proud to honour him with this award.”

Joyce Hodgetts, Managing Director of ATT, said: “At ATT we are committed to recognising success and have over many years created opportunities to enable teachers, staff and pupils to be honoured for their achievements.

“We are proud of all of our staff and pupils and we are pleased to be able to reward their dedication with special events like the House of Commons.

“Congratulations to each of our winners and thank you to everyone at ATT for your hard work.”
