Hot Weather Letter

On the 18th and 19th July, students are not required to wear full school uniform as we want them to be as comfortable as possible, therefore they will be allowed to wear their school PE kit if they wish.  Should students opt to wear their school uniform, blazers will not be required.  Any students involved in the photographs for the prospectus on Monday are asked to bring in their school uniform for the photographs, but will be allowed to change as soon as these have been taken and we will provide somewhere for students to leave their uniform after if they wish.

As a school we are also implementing the following measures:

  • Prioritising the use of rooms in school that are cooler and have air conditioning.
  • Ensuring that all windows are open before students arrive at school.
  • Practical lessons involving the production of heat, will be modified and adapted accordingly.
  • At breaks, students will be advised to stay out of the direct sunshine for prolonged periods.
  • Students will be reminded about the importance of staying hydrated throughout the day and we have a number of water stations throughout the school.

As always during the warmer weather, please remember to apply sun cream and ensure that your child has a water bottle to refill throughout the day.
