Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance at Sutton Community Academy
Throughout your time at Sutton Community Academy you will take part in a wide variety of activities, lessons, and visits which will enable you to gain valuable knowledge about jobs and courses that may be of interest at various stages throughout your life. We will assist you in finding the information you need about your next steps after leaving Sutton Community Academy and help you to understand this information, which will be an essential skill to help you apply for, and be successful in jobs in the future.
Careers Advice
Our Careers Advisor, Miss Emily Smith, is always available in school to provide support in making a well-informed, realistic decision about what to do after leaving Sutton Community Academy and to help you to think further ahead about what you may wish to do in the future. You can request a Careers appointment with Miss Smith at any time via your tutor, Grofar or by speaking to Miss Smith in the Careers Office, which is in Specialist Base.
Careers Hub
The Careers Hub is located outside of SB1 and is always available to students. You can find information about colleges, sixth forms, apprenticeships, universities and different jobs. Check out the display screen for up to date information about opportunities, open days and top tips to help you plan for your future! You can use the iPad to help you research your ideas, along with a wide range of books and leaflets, including college/university prospectuses, and career books. We also have a range of how2become [link; https://www.how2become.com/] books, which have been kindly donated to our Careers Hub to support you in learning how to achieve your dream job!
Grofar
Make sure that you regularly access your Grofar account, where you can use the resources area to help you research different ideas, update your goals and action plan, and request a Careers appointment. If you need a new password, you can request this using your school email address.
